Hello! My name is Nisanth, and welcome to my blog, Articklez!
Now, I'm going to tell you about one of my favorite books, "The Gita -- For children", written by Roopa Pai, illustrated by Sayan Mukherjee, and published by Hachette India. This book is a complete, unabridged version of the Bhagavad Gita. It is the english version of one of the most celebrated conversations in India, between Prince Arjuna, and Lord Krishna. The mighty hero and warrior, Arjuna, was going to fight a war... a war against evil... a war in a battlefield which only favors the good, and noble. Just 2 minutes before the war had started, he asked his friend, mentor, and charioteer, Krishna; to show him the men on both sides. But... what was this? On the other side, which he thought evil, stood kith and kin ready to fight. Being the greatest archer in the world, he could conquer the mightiest and most powerful of soldiers. He couldn't raise his bow and shower this enemy with arrows!
He reveals his dilemma to Krishna, who HAS to make Arjuna fight, and win. Krishna tries different approaches to make Arjuna fight. While doing so, he tells him that it was his duty; he'll never slay his kin, only their bodily form; he himself will never slay them... only his body, mind, and senses will. He classifies people, based on their nature as: Sattvik (good), Rajasik (Moderate), and Tamasik (Bad). He tells Arjuna what everyone's goal should be. He tells Arjuna, how him leaving the field will never give him peace, and a war will still rage on forever in his head. He tells Arjuna the three paths of destruction: Anger, Desire, and Greed. And "Arjuna" is just a metaphor for all of mankind!Loaded with fun facts, lessons, and more, this is a must-read book, for everyone! This WILL provide you with useful tips and prior knowledge about the Mahabharata. It's easy to read, fun to read, and most importantly - useful to read. And it's gonna help you long after you complete reading it.
